Mustafa Farooq

Mr. Mustafa Farooq is qualified Chartered Accountant, registered with Institute of Chartered Accountant of Pakistan and holds a Master’s Degree in Economics from University of Karachi. He is also pursuing CIA certification from Institute of Internal Auditors

Mr. Farooq began his career as a trainee with Grant Thornton Anjum Rahman (GTAR), Chartered Accountants where he completed his chartered accountancy mandatory training period and later on worked at supervisory position. During his stay with GTAR he was also deputed to United Arab Emirates office of GTAR at senior position.

Mr. Farooq joined CDC in the year 2014 and remained actively involved with senior management team and legal experts in devising necessary amendments in CDC Regulations, ensuring compliances established under the applicable legal framework of CDC, financial feasibilities, business proposals & start-ups etc.. Over the last 5 years, he has also worked on various significant assignments aimed at formulation of new regulatory regimes and market reforms related proposals. He has also played due role in identifying and preparing necessary amendments in the Central Depositories Act, 1997 and Company’s Memorandum & Articles of Association.

He has attended both local and international capital market conferences and seminars including training at the Cross Training Seminar of Asia-Pacific Central Securities Depositories Group in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Presently, he is also working as Senior Manager in Compliance Department and mainly responsible for ensuring compliances, regulations making, internal advisory, matters related to Regulatory Affairs Committee (RAC), assist Chief Compliance Officer in RAC meetings and communications with SECP and SROs.
